Program Overview
The VFI Volun-Tour Farm Program blends meaningful volunteer farm work at diverse sites across Israel with guided tours of the country’s cultural and historical landmarks.
It incorporates five immersive volunteer days, three private touring days, and one travel day. Custom touring focuses on well-known and less-visited sites with a small size group. Volunteering activities involve farm work requiring a moderate level of physical activity. Participants of all ages are welcome.
Volunteer-Centered Action
Over the past few years, Israel and the Jewish people have endured profound trauma and uncertainty. In response, VFI is mobilizing volunteers, strengthening local agriculture, and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Israeli farmers and family-run businesses. Volunteers bring heart, healing, and hope directly to the communities that need it most.
Volunteers may participate in any part of Israel’s agriculture sector, from planting to pruning, harvesting to packing and sorting. They may work with a variety of crops, or focus on a single one. Volunteers go where they are needed.

Program Fees
The all-inclusive fee for this 9-day program bundles major costs including all hotel stays, all transportation in an air-conditioned bus, breakfast everyday and meals as noted on the itinerary, all aspects of volunteering, all-day touring, entrance fees, private tour guide, and gratuities.
For double occupancy at all hotels, the fee is $2532. A supplement for single occupancy is $698. Each fee is subject to hotel room availability. It is based on a minimum of 5 participants and is subject to adjustment for fewer participants.
As a non-profit organization, VFI is committed to offering premium volun-touring experiences at the lowest possible price. Due to fluctuations in the dollar-shekel exchange rate and other economic factors, it may be necessary to occasionally increase trip fees above those published at the time of your deposit. We will make every attempt to ensure that fee increases are minimal and infrequent.
How to Register for the VFI Farm Program
Complete VFI Application and Submit Deposit
To reserve your space in a program, submit a completed application which includes making a $500 refundable deposit. This deposit will be applied toward the final cost. VFI is a 501(c)3 non-profit so part of your payment may be tax-deductible. Please consult your financial advisor.
Travel Documents
- Passport: Traveling in Israel requires a passport that must be valid for at least 6 months AFTER your arrival date
- NEW VISA Requirement: All non-Israeli visitors to Israel must have a valid visa or ETA-IL (Electronic Travel Authorization) before they start their trip. The ETA-IL is valid for two years and multiple trips of 90 days or less. The cost is 25 NIS (about $7.00) per person and obtained by online application at: https://israel-entry.piba.gov.il/
Insurance
VFI requires individual medical coverage while in Israel. Medicare generally does not cover medical care outside the U.S., so you should confirm with your insurer whether your policy includes coverage for treatment in Israel. VFI strongly recommends obtaining trip cancellation insurance which may also include medical coverage*.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Friday – Greetings & Orientation
Check into the Maxim Hotel in Tel Aviv. Optional self-guided touring for those arriving early and feeling energetic. Group Welcome Shabbat Dinner.
Day 2 – Saturday – All day touring
Breakfast at your hotel. All-day tour exploring Tel Aviv. Overnight in Hotel
Day 3 to 7 – Sunday to Thursday- Farm Work Awaits
SAMPLE DAILY SCHEDULE:
6:30 am Breakfast in the hotel lobby. Load the bus at 7:45.
8:00 am Agriculture volunteering (e.g., in fields, orchards, greenhouses, packing facilities, or other per the farmers’ needs)
10:00 am Break
1:00 pm Return to Tel Aviv
7:00 pm Free evening to enjoy in Tel Aviv
Day 8 – Friday – All day touring
Breakfast at your hotel. Check out of hotel. All-day touring Dinner and overnight at the Prima Royale Hotel in Jerusalem.
Day 9 – Saturday – Eternal Jerusalem and Farewell
Breakfast at your hotel. All-day touring. Farewell Dinner in a local restaurant.
Volunteers will be dropped off at the airport on Saturday night for departure, while those choosing to extend their stay in Israel may continue independently.
